Research is at the heart of the academic infrastructure of the School of Health and Social Care. Our research success has been built on strong academic – practice partnerships that address real world questions. At the heart of this work is an endeavour to improve the lives of people, either directly through service delivery or the education of professionals providing health and social care.

Research Degrees

Our Codes of Practice are designed to ensure the successful and timely completion of your degree. You will be supported throughout your research by a range of skill-building and enhancement programmes.


How to apply for a research degree

All applications for research degrees are made direct to the University. Candidates are invited to apply by submitting a completed application form and full proposal, indicating their proposed starting date, to the School Research Administrator. Download a research degree application form.
