The Transcultural Nursing Society in association with The School of Health & Social Care at Bournemouth University is pleased to announce the 33rd annual conference.

The 2007 conference welcomes keynote speakers:

  • Professor Irena Papadopoulos, Middlesex University, UK
  • Dr Martha Chinouya, London Metropolitan University, UK
  • Dr Rumay Alexander, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing , USA
  • Professor Robert Schweitzer, Queensland University of Technology, Australia
  • Dr Mavis Mulaudzi, University of Pretoria, South Africa  

Conference Objectives:

  • Explore the issue of human rights in relation to global migration and the implication for health and well-being with particular reference to HIV/Aids

  • Examine how transcultural health care professionals can respond to the effects of world poverty on the health of its peoples

  • Analyse the impact of the migration of health staff on the provision of care

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of research and education in improving transcultural care
