There is plenty of accommodation in Bournemouth for all tastes and budgets. All the accommodation is around the town centre and a short bus/taxi ride away from the Talbot Campus. We recommend the following hotels and we provide a more comprehensive list. When booking ask for the Bournemouth University corporate rate if this is of use.

Bournemouth University Talbot Campus

By Road

Bournemouth has excellent road links with the M27 and M3, and you will find the University is easily accessible by car.

If you are unfamiliar with the Bournemouth and Poole area the best way to approach the University’s Talbot Campus is from the East or the North via A338 (known locally as the Wessex Way). Leave the A338 at the Richmond Hill roundabout, then take the third exit from this roundabout (A347) and proceed along Wimborne Road. At the four way junction (intersection with traffic lights) turn left (A347, the road continues as Wimborne Road then becomes Talbot Avenue), and proceed over the next three roundabouts, take the first exit into Fern Barrow and you will see the Talbot Campus on your left. If you are travelling from the West, approach Poole on the A35, then follow signs for Bournemouth (A3049) taking the dual carriageway past Tower Park (the Dorset Way), Talbot Campus is on the A3049 (Wallisdown Road). By Coach

Regular coach services run to Bournemouth from Bristol and London (Victoria) and most other larger centres. Coach journey time from London is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Coach and bus services operate from the Bournemouth Travel Interchange, located next to Bournemouth railway station and near the town centre. By Rail

Bournemouth is the nearest station to the University which is served by a fast inter-city rail link from London (Waterloo). The journey by fast train takes 1 hour 45 minutes. There are also regular trains to Bournemouth from other major cities, for example, Bristol (under 3 hours), Birmingham (under 3 hours 30 minutes), Cardiff (under 3 hours 30 minutes), Manchester and Sheffield (approximately 5 hours). If you are arriving by train or coach, bus number 6a, 6b and 6c will take you from Bournemouth rail/coach station to the Talbot Campus. Alternatively Talbot Campus is about a 5-10 minute journey by taxi from Bournemouth station (the cost is approximately £9-£10 one way).

Uni Bus Services

As part of the local transport network, Wilts & Dorset Buses operates a student-oriented service known as UniLinx. This service provides transport between our two campuses and extends to areas populated by students in Poole, Bournemouth and Boscombe. By Air

London Heathrow is approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes by road from Bournemouth. You can transfer to Bournemouth University by Coach- Check the National ExpressExternal Link website for time schedules and fare (Service 205), by train through central London or by prearranging a Taxi through the Mobile Radio Cars company:Tel:+44 1202 518000 or United TaxisExternal Link Tel: +44 1202 556677.

London Gatwick is 2 hours, 30 minutes away.

Southampton International Airport (SOU) is approximately 35 minutes away by road and serves as a main station on the rail route between Bournemouth and London. Flybe, Brussels Airlines and several other airlines serve a number of UK, European and Channel Island destinations.

Bournemouth Airport (BOH) is approximately 15 minutes away from the town by road and also serves a number of destinations. Bournemouth Airport is located about 5 miles (8 kilometers) from Bournemouth town centre. Ryanair, Easyjet and several other airlines operate to a number of European airports. There is no direct rail link, however, taxis and buses serve the airport.
