Bibliography

These citations have been drawn from a variety of sources, including the World Hospitality and Tourism Trends (WHATT), Articles in Hospitality and Tourism (AHT) and CAB databases as well as the extensive research undertaken by staff and students at the International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research, based at Bournemouth University.

Due to the vast quantity of information available it has been sub-divided into several sections in order to make it easier for you to find about where you can find out more information about a specific destination or type of venue.

The UK and Eire MICE destinations (.PDF 102 kb) section is organised regionally, and contains detailed bibliographies for all regions, counties and the leading MICE destinations in the British Isles and Republic of Ireland.

The International MICE destination (.PDF 117kb)s section is organised by Continent, and enables the user to find out where to look for more information upon a specific region or country around the world.

The Academic, Sporting Historic and Unusual Venues (.PDF 45kb) section reflects the needs of Universities, modern sports stadia, country houses and other unusual venues to make more cost effective use of their facilities for meetings and conferencing purposes.

The Travel and Transport Venues (.PDF 31kb recognises the fact that meetings, conferences and exhibitions involve the coming together of many people from different parts of a country or, indeed, from different parts of the world. This section recognises the importance of the motorway network and the popularity of airport hotels for meetings and also contains citations regarding cruise ships and trains as event venues.

The Technology (.PDF 35kb) section contains citations for audio-visual equipment, the use of computers, technology and software as well as video, telephone and internet conferencing.

The Research, Statistics and Tourism Trends (.PDF 62kb) section contains information on where to find out more about the issues currently affecting the UK and International Conference industry.
