The Centre for Qualitative Research is based at Bournemouth University's Institute of Health and Community Studies. The Institute's research strategy is built on a commitment to real world research that is transferable across a variety of contexts. It has considerable expertise in research approaches and programmes that aim to improve the everyday lives of health and social care users.

The Centre for Qualitative Research, IHCS, has recently received funding from the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for a project entitled, "Social Science in Search of its Muse: Exploratory Workshops in Arts-related Production and Dissemination of Social Science Data".

Kip Jones explores the background of performative social science and outlines the progress so far in establishing the CQR as a hub for the 'performative' in production and diffusion of qualitative data.
