Future Lawyer
Law careers blog from the law librarian at City University. It contains advice on pursuing a career in law, and includes interviews with former (City) law students about how they have successfully entered the legal profession. Lots of great tips and practical advice for all law students.

International Law Students Association (ILSA)
Non-profit association of students and lawyers dedicated to the promotion of international law. ILSA provides students with opportunities to study, research, and network in the international legal arena.

Law in a Box

Pro Bono (free legal assistance provided by legal professionals and law students):

Amicus
Offers internships to UK lawyers and students to work alongside attorneys in the US to provide legal representation for those awaiting capital trial and punishment.

Bar Pro Bono Unit
Charity which helps to find free legal assistance from volunteer barristers.

Citizens' Advice Bureau
Information on volunteering as a CAB advisor.

Free Representation Unit
FRU is a charity that trains volunteer law students and legal professionals to provide legal advice and advocacy in tribunal cases for those who could not otherwise obtain legal support.

Law Centres Federation
Law Centres provide advice to the community on social welfare law. Site includes information on volunteering opportunities and student placements.

Prisoners' Advice Service
PAS provides legal advice and information to prisoners in England and Wales regarding their rights, the application of the Prison Rules and conditions of imprisonment. They require volunteers to assist the casework team.

Student Pro Bono

Solicitors' Pro Bono Group (LawWorks)
LawWorks aims to increase the delivery of free legal advice to individuals and communities in need. Information on pro bono opportunities for solicitors and law students.

Victim Support
National charity which helps people affected by crime in England and Wales. Their volunteers support victims of crime in the community and witnesses in court.

Central Applications Board
