Census.ac.uk offers free online access to 1971-2000 census data resources, advanced search facilities, detailed metadata, census guides, census forms and online help. All those from UK further and higher education institutions are eligible for registration.

Government data for re-use. Advised by Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Professor Nigel Shadbolt and others, government is opening up data for reuse. This site seeks to give a way into the wealth of government data and is under constant development.

Collection of data and charts (compiled by Ted Bos, Department of Economics, University of Alabama, Birmingham) for over 68,000 government and non-government time series. Commonly requested data, such as Gross National Product in Current Dollars (1959 to present), Real Personal Consumption Expenditures in Chained 1992 Dollars (1959 to present), and Bank Prime Loan Rates (1949 to present), are searchable by keyword with Excel worksheet and GIF chart format options. The list of key acronyms and terms posted on the Help screen and the links to related data make the site even more useful.
