Provides a one stop gateway to data and support services which allow users and researchers in UK Higher and Further Education to access the 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001 UK censuses. It also provides access to other important census related resources.

NOMIS

NOMIS
Nomis is run by the University of Durham on behalf of the Office for National Statistics. Nomis houses an extensive range of government statistical information on the UK labour market including Employment, Unemployment, Earnings, Labour Force Survey and Jobcentre Plus vacancies. Free access both as a guest and by prior registration. Latter enables access to enhanced facilities, e.g.,

  • 'my account' - customising aspects of the site;
  • Annual Business Inquiry.
  • Saving queries., e.g., if you download claimant count figures for your area each month, you can save the query you use to do this for re-use in subsequent months.
  • Saving lists, e.g., if you use a set of geographic areas (or industries, occupations, etc.) frequently, you can save them as a list, then re-use this list in subsequent sessions and with other data sets;
  • Create user-defined selections, e.g., you may combining several categories wherever detailed breakdowns such are available such as industries, occupations and age, and re-use them in subsequent sessions.
