Theses and Dissertations

PhD theses and Research Masters dissertations completed by BU researchers are held in the Library and can be searched for on the Library Catalogue. They are housed in the Special Collections Room in The Sir Michael Cobham Library, Talbot Campus. The room operates under a closed access arrangement. Please ask at the Library Help Zone if you wish to apply for access.

Taught Masters and final year Undergraduate dissertations:

Business School (undergraduate programmes), School of Applied Sciences: selected sample dissertations are held in The Sir Michael Cobham Library, 1st floor, filed after "Facts and Statistics" at the end of the Reference Collections. Available for reference use only.

School of Health and Social Care and Business School (postgraduate programmes): selected sample dissertations are held at Bournemouth House Library. Available for reference use only.

School of Design, Engineering and Computing (DEC) dissertations are not held in the Library. A collection is available in the DEC Project Library, Poole House.

Media School: held in Weymouth House (contact Admin - room W331).

School of Tourism dissertations are available electronically on myBU as follows. Enter your myBU Home page > Select ‘ST Students' in your communities section > Select ‘Dissertations' in the contents section on the left > ‘Select Dissertation Archive'

It is a database of the records of over 250,000 UK theses with the added functionality to enable the requesting of digital copies of selected theses.
