myBU CommunitiesmyBU communities have similar tools and functions to a myBU course, but are designed to be used for extra-curricular groups, such as Special Interest Groups or Research Groups. Both staff and students can be assigned as Leaders to manage and add content to their community. There are no membership restrictions, meaning communities can contain a mix of both BU staff and BU students. Communities can be accessed via the ‘My Communities’ tab. To request a Community, please complete the Community Request Form. Once submitted, Learning Technologists will create the community and send further information by email. NB: Students may request a community, however they should have a 'sponsor'. This should be a member of staff, for example a unit tutor. This sponsor will be enrolled in the community, and will act as a point of contact with Library and Learning Support. Students who would like to use a myBU discussion board to communicate with other students in their School, Programme or Unit may consider asking their Unit tutor to set up a forum in an existing myBU unit or School, Level or Programme group area.
