BoB or Box of Broadcasts is a new service available to all Bournemouth University members of staff, researchers and students. BoB allows you to:

  • record programmes broadcast in the previous 7 days (BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, News 24, Parliament, Radio 3, Radio 4, Five Live)
  • BoB allows you to schedule recordings up to 7 days in advance using an Electronic Programme Guide
  • create a personal account and manage your own off-air recording
  • store and reuse recordings
  • create playlists that you can share with others
  • record programmes broadcast on Freeview signal

The Library will ensure that two daily news broadcasts on ITV and BBC1 are recorded on BoB. You can access BoB here [ http://bobnational.net/ ] . You have to register to use BoB. To change your password once you register go to the MyBoB section of the BoB website and click on Preferences.

Finding Programmes

Request forms for recordings from the Off-Air Recording Back-Up Collection May 1998 - April 2005 should include the date, time and channel of the programme, The Sir Michael Cobham Library still has copies of the Radio Times for these dates. Alternatively, consult the TRILT: Broadcast Listings which is an excellent reference tool for programmes from 1995.
