External MembershipBournemouth University Library has an agreement with a number of further and higher education establishments in the local area, whereby their students, researchers and academic staff may borrow library materials from the University Library, free of charge. In most instances the agreement is reciprocal. Free external membership is also offered to BU retired staff. External membership does not permit access to computer facilities and electronic services, nor the loan of certain categories of material such as multi-media items. External borrower membership is offered to:
External borrower members may borrow up to 3 books at a time throughout the year. Applications for membership may be made in person at the Library Help Zone. Please bring 2 forms of ID including; proof of local address (eg driving licence, bank statement, building society book) and a passport sized photograph to attach to their new card. This ID card must be carried at all times on University property and will be needed to borrow items.
