Subscription Membership

Subscription membership is offered at the rates indicated:

  • Teachers at publicly-funded schools, staff and students of other public institutions of higher education and members of the Bournemouth University Alumni Association = £39 (inc VAT) per annum
  • Individuals who do not fall into the above categories = £70 (inc VAT) per annum
  • Companies or other corporate bodies = £126 (inc VAT) per annum

Subscription members may borrow up to 12 books at a time throughout the year. Additionally, they may reserve any book that is on loan to another user.

The Library can however grant access only to printed resources. Because of licence restrictions members of the public, University Alumni, External, Vacation, SCONUL access and Subscription Members may not use electronic or multimedia resources acquired under licence for exclusive use of University staff and students.

Applications for membership by a company or other corporate body must be submitted in writing to:

Individual applications may be made in person at one of the University Libraries. Applicants will need to fill in a membership form. They should bring 2 forms of ID including; proof of local address (eg driving licence, bank statement, building society book) and a passport sized photograph to attach to their new card. This ID card must be carried at all times on University property and will be needed to borrow items.
