Lady Digby Appointed Chancellor
Lady Digby will take office as Chancellor in November. She will succeed Lord Taylor of Warwick who has served Bournemouth University as Chancellor since 2001.
Lady Digby’s National appointments have included Board membership of the National Rivers Authority, the Arts Council of Great Britain and the South Bank Board. In recognition of a lifetime of achievement and of her on-going commitment to the local community, Lady Digby was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts by Bournemouth University in 1997.
Lady Digby currently serves as the University’s Pro Chancellor, deputising for the Chancellor and working in an advisory capacity with senior members of the University and the University Board.
Bournemouth University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Curran, welcomes Lady Digby’s appointment.
'Her commitment to the success of Bournemouth University and her long service as Pro Chancellor makes Lady Digby an ideal choice to serve as Chancellor for the coming year,” said Professor Curran. “Lady Digby shares our passion for the University and the region and brings an outstanding record of personal achievement and professional engagement which will stand us in good stead.'
