Bournemouth University’s growing reputation as an innovative institution is making headlines around the world.

BU related news and features appear in the local, regional, national and international media every day thanks to the work of our proactive Public Relations Team.

The PR Team is BU’s first point of contact for all media and corporate communications enquiries on behalf of the University.

Team members draw from a wide range of professional experience in public affairs, journalism, events management, internal communications, electronic and printed publications and media relations.

The team is responsible for:

  • Maintaining open lines of communication with the media;
  • Generating news-making stories on ground-breaking research and interesting student activities;
  • Arranging interviews with leading academics and high-achieving students;
  • Co-ordinating requests for filming / photography of University people and activities;
  • Managing the University’s communications activities related to serious incidents;
  • Assisting with the co-ordination of major events held at various locations, both on- and off-campus.

Campus-based ISDN

The BU PR Team has a dedicated ISDN facility equipped with outside broadcast mixer (dual codec) and headset microphones to facilitate studio-quality interviews directly from our Talbot Campus.
