Annual Postgraduate Researcher Conference

A tropical island

A Celebration of BU PGR Research

These annual events are designed to showcase the best of BU's postgraduate research and to provide a unique opportunity for PGRs to present their work within a learning environment. Our multi-disciplinary conferences will allow for cross-school interaction as well as opportunities for collaboration, where appropriate.

The 2011 conference built on the great success of the previous PGR Conferences in 2008 and 2009. Thank you to all who took part and attended the conference, it proved to be the best supported one yet. The following prizes were awarded for Best Oral Presentations:

  • Mr Sean Beer (School of Tourism): Aims, objectives and paradigms: discovering a new meaning to the word meaning
  • Mr Jan Walter Schroeder (School of Design, Engineering & Computing): Electrocutaneous feedback system for patients with neuropathy

and for Best Poster Presentations:

  • Mr Neil Vaughan (School of Design, Engineering & Computing): Development Of An Epidural Simulator For Virtual Training And Administration
  • Sui Chian Phang (School of Applied Sciences): Predicting fish responses to environmental change using individual-based models

We are looking forward to the 2011/12 conference; details of which will be given here later on this year.
