Community Programmes

BU Sports

sportBU is now working within the local community to help with sporting provision, coaching and quality experience. The community sport programme includes sports volunteering, with BU students giving their time to manage and coordinate sporting events, coaching in local schools and assist with the delivery of sport to the local area.

We also have a range of sporting activites happening at the Talbot campus including our BU Junior Academies which include gymnastics, dance and football for children aged 8 - 14 years old. sportBU now also provides holiday acitivites for children on campus with our BU Multi-Activity Camps.

sportBU is working with many partners to deliver high quality sporting opportunities to the local area. These partners include change4life, vinspired, access2leisure and many local primary schools including Winton Primary School, St Marks CofE Primary School and Talbot Combined School.

We also work closely with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) to support our students with sporting opportunities but also with their willingness to develop sport at grassroots, they are currently involved in many of our junior programmes as well.

Community sport is important to Bournemouth University and with the launch of sportBU this coming year, we plan to offer more to the local community than ever before.
