TASS

“TASS supports the potential medal winners of the future."

The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is a Government funded programme that represents a unique partnership between sport and Higher and Further Education

The programme distributes awards to talented athletes who are committed to combining their sport and education.

It aims to reduce the drop-out of talented athletes from sport and supports and develops the talent of today for sporting success in the future. 

TASS provides athletes with a tailored package of services compromising of services such as Coaching, Strength and Conditioning, Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support, Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine.

Having been selected by the National Governing Body for each Sport, the funding is channelled through the University at which students are based or where the support structure is in place.

  • Medical Insurance;
  • Mentoring;
  • Equipment;
  • Sports Science - Biomechanics;
  • Physiology;
  • Psychology and Nutrition;
  • Competition costs at National and International Levels;
  • Travel Costs;
  • Professional Athlete Life Skills Training;
  • Development (TALS) Workshops;

Bournemouth University currently has 14 TASS athletes.
