Listening and Questioning

Listening and questioning skills are two of the basic building blocks of good communication. Being able to ask the right questions is an essential skill that cuts across all job roles, allowing you to find out information and influence the direction that conversations take. The use of effective listening is the counterpart to this, showing not only that you have heard but also understood what has been said.

This workshop uses practical exercises designed to help enhance your listening and questioning skills, both in formal settings such as interviews and in your daily work.

By the end of the session, you will:

  • The different levels of listening
  • Barriers to effective listening
  • Various types of question, their use and impact
  • Combining listening and questioning to enhance communication
