| Accreditation of Prior Learning |
|
The University operates an Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process to allow students who provide evidence of prior learning to be considered for exemptions from parts of their academic programme. All genuine learning is considered deserving of credit providing that it can be clearly identified and described, is relevant and at the appropriate level and that it can be assessed in relation to the validated programme.
This session outlines the recent changes to the APL definitions, principles and process. It provides an overview of the process to be followed in the case of all APL applications, including Direct Entry, Articulation, internal Progression and Recognition arrangements. In addition, the session will outline the process to be followed for students transferring internally within and between frameworks and programmes. The session is open to all staff but will be particularly relevant for staff involved in admissions, Programme Coordinators and Programme Administrators. |
