Workshop

Manual Handling Training

Bournemouth University recognises its duties towards all staff for manual handling operations that involve a potential risk of injury (Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992).

It is the University’s policy to avoid the need for manual handling operations involving risk wherever it is reasonably practicable to do so. However where there are no reasonable alternatives then the University will aim to control the risk to employees who carry out manual handling operations, which includes the provision of manual handling training.

These two hour sessions will provide all individuals with a good working knowledge of manual handling practices, procedures and avoidance techniques as well as practical training on how to carry out manual handling functions safely and in relation to their workplace.

Facilitated by Chris Pitt.
