The Induction Process at BUOur induction programme is made up of two parts: the local induction, tailor-made for the individual, and a generic induction organised centrally by Staff Development. Together these:
All new staff are expected to participate in an induction programme. This is essential for those who are new to the University, but it is just as important that those changing roles are given the appropriate support to settle into their new job. Central Induction EventsAll new staff should attend the New Staff Induction Event. In addition, there are two separate events aimed at specific groups of staff: new academics and those entering into a management position.
The Local InductionLine managers are responsible for planning the local induction and should encourage their staff to take part in the events organised centrally. They are also responsible for making sure that the University’s Induction Checklist is completed, which should be returned to Human Resources within two weeks of the individual starting their employment Further Information
If you are unable to find the information you need, Staff Development would be happy to point you in the right direction - please email us or call on extension 65014. |
