The University has a full-time Energy Officer, who can advise on any energy-related issues. For internal enquiries, please call ext. 61029. A group of volunteer Energy Monitors helps promote energy efficiency within their own Schools and Professional Services.

Bournemouth University was awarded Fairtrade University Status by the Fairtrade Foundation in June 2006.
All shops, cafés and refectories on campus now sell a selection of Fairtrade products and Fairtrade tea, coffee and sugar are served at internal meetings.
