Two Ticks
Bournemouth University has successfully achieved the ‘Disability Two Ticks Status’. This quality mark is awarded by the Department of Work and Pensions (JobCentre Plus) for our positive commitment regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees. The Univeristy is proud of this achievement and continued commitment in these areas. By receiving the Two Tick symbol, the BU has committed to:
Achievement of this status is one way in which Bournemouth University demonstrates its commitment to diversity and equality, by ensuring that as an institution it is open and accessible to all, valuing its staff and students for what they bring as individuals. The disability symbol is represented by Two Ticks and the words "positive about disabled people". You will see the symbol displayed on the HR and Dignity, Diversity and Equality web pages and specifically on job adverts, application forms and recruitment literature. The Two Ticks symbol and associated responsibilities apply to all University vacancies. We are currently in the process of reviewing our web accesibility guidelines and policy. They will shortly be updated to reflect the new W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
