The Induction Process at BUOur induction programme is made up of two parts: the local induction, tailor-made for the individual, and a central induction programme organised by Organisational and Staff Development. Together these:
All new staff are expected to participate in an induction programme. This is essential for those who are new to the University, but it is just as important that those changing roles are given the appropriate support to settle into their new job. Central Induction EventsAll new staff are expected to attend various Induction related events including the Central New Staff Induction Event. Depending on your role and whether you are new to BU or changing roles you are expected to attend a subset of the following workshops
For further information, or to book onto these events, click here>> The Local InductionLine managers are responsible for planning the local induction and should encourage their staff to take part in the events organised centrally. They are also responsible for making sure that the University’s Induction Checklist is completed, which should be returned to Human Resources within two weeks of the individual starting their employment Managers needing guidance on how to plan an effective induction should refer to the Managers’ Guide to Induction and Probation or book onto our Managing Probation Masterclass.
