BU is here to help if you require financial support. This could be helping you resolve problems with your funding provider, for example Student Finance England or the NHS, help with managing your money, or if you are in financial difficulty and require additional funding.

There are various types of financial support funding available from BU, including:

If you do not meet the criteria for the funds listed above and are currently in financial difficulty, please contact AskBU or SUBU Advice and we will try to help.

BU also offers a range of bursariesundergraduate scholarships and postgraduate scholarships to students.

There is mainstream funding available for undergraduate and postgraduate students from the relevant government funding bodies, depending on whether you meet the eligibility criteria. As well as NHS funding for students on eligible nursing, midwifery and allied health courses.

In addition to mainstream government and BU funds, it is possible to receive further support from external trusts, charities and grants. BU subscribes to a funding database specifically for those looking for funding to support postgraduate studies – log in to the Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding Online, this is free for all current BU students and staff. Even if you are an undergraduate student, you may find the guide useful.

If you want more information on any of the above or have any queries about student finance, you can contact or visit AskBU or SUBU Advice and we will try to help.

Please note: Financial help can be based on circumstances and you may not be entitled to all funding help options.
