Aimhigher Southwest UniTasters – Year 11

Tuesday 5 July - Friday 8 July 2011

This year Bournemouth University in conjunction with the Arts University College at Bournemouth will be hosting a four day residential UniTaster for Year 11 students from across the South West region. The course will give you an insight into university life whilst at the same time developing your hidden talents and skills.

You will get to work with undergraduate student mentors and staff in your two chosen academic areas for one day each. More information on some of the subjects you can sample is available on the taster days page. You will have the opportunity to sample student life, experience university teaching, and develop teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills. You will also get the latest information on student financial support and advice on the UCAS application procedure.

Bournemouth is well known for its fun-loving students! We want you to experience that side of student life too so there will be social activities every evening, including a beach barbecue, ten-pin bowling and a disco evening. You will live on the University Campus in small single-sex houses in the student village and a student mentor will stay in each student house at night.

The UniTaster gives you the chance to meet lots of new people, try out different activities and discover whether university is for you. What's more, you will have fun in the process!

If you think the UniTaster is for you then please go to the Aimhigher UniTaster websitefor further details and information on how to apply. The deadline for applications is Friday 4 February 2011.

The UniTaster is fully funded through Aimhigher and there is no charge to the participants, transport costs are also fully covered in advance of the event.
