What is Zoom?

Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing and meeting platform allowing easy collaboration with others when you're working or studying remotely. You can meet online from your desktop, laptop or mobile, and on Windows, Apple Mac, Android and IOS devices.

Everyone at BU (staff and students) has access to Zoom Pro, allowing unlimited call times and meeting delegation.

Why use Zoom?

Through Zoom, you can hold phone or video conferences, chat sessions, deliver presentations, share content, screenshare, collaborate on projects, perform demonstrations, and record meetings. Additional tools include document sharing and virtual whiteboards.

Zoom provides a number of benefits including:

  • 300 participant limit
  • up to 50 breakout rooms
  • unlimited session lengths and the ability to stream video to your attendees.

Zoom is also the best on the market in terms of quality, multi-platform support (including mobile devices), accessibility and user-friendly design.
