Dr Anastasios Theofilou is a Principal Academic in Public Relations at the Faculty of Media and Communication, at Bournemouth University. He holds a BA in Political Science and Public Administration with a specialization in International Relations (National Kapodistrian University of Athens), MBA with a thesis in Crisis Management (National Technical University of Athens and Athens University of Economics and Business) and a PhD in Sponsorship as a Public Relations Strategy (Athens University of Economics and Business). Dr Theofilou is Chair of the International History of Public Relations History (IHPRC), reviewer for PR Review and Corporate Communication: An International Journal, editor of Routlege, Taylor & Francis Group entitled International History of Public Relations series, guest editor for PR Review and Corporate Communication: An International Journal. Due to his Public Relations expertise he has served as external examiner for University of Wolverhampton and Liverpool John Moores University, while still is Chief examiner for the Charted Institute for Public Relations (CIPR). Dr Theofilou is a Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellow. His work has featured in broadcast media outlets (The Conversation). Anastasios is member of CIPR, EUPRERA and Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).

Research

Anastasios’ research lays at all aspects of Public Relations. He has conducted research on Sponsorship, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Crisis Management and History of Public Relations. His most recent work the book he edited entitled “Women in PR history”, while he is currently working on his monograph on “Sponsorship as part of Public Relations”
