Theo is the programme lead for the MSc Medical Imaging with Management Programme and a senior lecturer in medical imaging at the Institute of Medical Imaging and Visualisation, Bournemouth University. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Ghana (BSc Diagnostic Radiography) and postgraduate degrees from King's College London (MSc Neuroimaging) and the National University of Ireland, Galway (PhD Medicine). Dr Akudjedu is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (AdvanceHE) which demonstrates his continuing professional development and professionalism in teaching and the support of student learning, as well as his desire to develop and promote excellence in education. He investigated the progression of neuroanatomical abnormalities in psychosis using magnetic resonance imaging for his postgraduate training. Prior to his postgraduate studies, Theo worked clinically as a diagnostic radiographer in some of Ghana's busiest urban and rural hospitals.

Research

Theo's interests are in radiography and healthcare research, neuroimaging/clinical neuroscience and general clinical imaging research. He is interested in multidisciplinary research and happy to discuss the possibility for collaboration and/or postgraduate supervision.

Theo is committed to research-led teaching and role extension of imaging professionals and thus, he uses his experience and expertise to inspire the next generation of healthcare practitioners and researchers. He welcomes enquiries from both UK and non-UK students who might be interested in pursuing postgraduate studies for a PhD with him.
