Bournemouth University Privacy Notice: enquirer and applicant data in Unibuddy

When you ask to chat with a Bournemouth University (BU) student on the Unibuddy platform, the information in your Unibuddy account will be shared with BU: this is your name, email address, the course or degree you are interested in doing, the country where you live, when and how you signed up to Unibuddy and whether you have already applied to BU.

We will transfer this data into our client relationship management system and it will be stored and used as described in our Student Recruitment and Admissions Privacy Notice (if you have applied to BU you will already have been given a link to this Notice).   This will include sending you marketing communications, if you ticked the consent to marketing box when setting up your Unibuddy account.  You can unsubscribe from these BU communications at any time: please see links in our marketing emails and information in the Privacy Notice.   This will not affect any communications with you about your application to BU. 

BU is a data controller of this information, which means that we have are legally responsible for safeguarding the information and ensuring it is processed in accordance with the data protection legislation.  The Privacy notice (see link above) provides more information about how we do this and your data protection rights as an individual.
