Based in the Faculty of Media & Communication, RedBalloon Productions provides a wide range of services – supporting clients from the conception of ideas and script development, through to the final production. RedBalloon regularly win professional awards from The Royal Television Society and EVCOM for the high quality of their work.
Whatever your brief - a promo or longer form documentary, technical or educational media, broadcast or conference film or interactive exhibition game, the RedBalloon team will work with you, and your budget, to produce high-quality results. RedBalloon also work closely with animators in the faculty, and can produce extremely high quality graphics and 3D animation and VFX as part of an overall brief.
Facilities and Equipment
RedBalloon has standalone production facilities, a production office, shooting kits and FCP/Avid edit suite. It also offers access to:
- An HD TV studio with gallery and green room
- A Tricaster news studio
- Green screen studios with motion capture
- Sound studios for voiceover recording
- Post-production sound suites.
Clients
RedBalloon has a diverse range of clients and projects. They have recently produced a full length documentary on Paralympic athletes, and are currently working on several projects with French partners, producing VR and AR content for heritage sites for The National Trust, Exeter Cathedral and Fougeres Castle. This year they have also been working with Bournemouth and Dorchester hospitals and Bournemouth Courts of Justice.
RedBalloon has a core team of professional filmmakers, with many years of broadcast and high-end corporate experience between them. Clients experience the advantage of coming to a production agency based in the heart of a vibrant university community, this means RedBalloon can also call upon knowledgable and skilled graduates and students to work alongside the professionals, giving them invaluable work experience to help launch their media careers.
