At the Lees Gallery, Lees Lecture Theatre Complex Lobby, Talbot Campus, BU
MA student in film directing at BU, Danish Mai Hedvig Lyngby, has made a collection of mixed media collages as a creative expression and a commentary on the feminist contemporary journey of the current day.
The collages show how graphic female art can be and often is, and, more importantly, they comment on the modern brave and bold woman-image in relation to themes such as expectations, lust, suppressed needs and liberation. This is expressed through visual parallels to the sexual and feminist battle that has moved forwards in the recent years because of social media, and movements like #MeToo.
The collages have images from the 50s film world, film illustrations from the 60s and 70s, gay imagery, comic books, as well as fashion and music magazines, amongst other media.
All Roads Lead To... is a collection of mixed art and emotional expressions to salute and support the feminine energy of the modern woman moving along her liberation journey.
The exhibition showcases portraits of children taken by Milena Przytula over the past two years. Images presented as part of the collection were chosen by leading magazines Vogue Italia and ICONIC Artist Magazine.
