The Crisis and disaster management masterclass with Professor Lee Miles will explain how tourism organisations and destinations can enhance entrepreneurial resilience and reduce reputational risks. The Masterclass is designed to assist senior personnel from the travel and tourism industry to examine their own emergency plans and consider how to better integrate these with national and regional planning. This course is suitable for: airlines, cruise companies, rail and coach companies, travel and tour agencies, hotel companies, tourism destinations and event management companies.
The masterclass will include practical examples from a range of disasters such as an airline crash in Ghana, Hurricanes, earthquakes and provide the necessary foundation upon which you will able to implement policies and plans for crisis and disaster management. You will discuss international best practice in disaster management policy making and planning and learn how to ensure that these policies and plans can be applied and integrated within a sustainable economic framework both nationally, regionally and for business and commerce. The Bournemouth University’s Disaster Management Centre (BUDMC) has garnered decades of experience in education, research and professional practice. It lists governments, international aid agencies and multi-national businesses among its clientele, and prides itself on the practical, applicable nature of the research, consultancy and training that it delivers.
