Where: Atrium Gallery, Poole House, Talbot Campus When: Friday 10 November - Friday 22 December, 9am - 8pm
The exhibition showcases some of the fantastic work our volunteers have accomplished over the last three years of the project. Performing the Past is an experimental archaeology project funded by the National Lottery fund in partnership with BU and BCP.
The project has engaged local volunteers in flint knapping, pottery making, bronze working, local pigment and paints, prehistoric clothing, and cooking. Hengistbury Head evidence over 12,500 years of continuous human habitation and use from the Upper Palaeolithic to the modern era and crafts and industries practised over its prehistory have been the focus of this project.
This exhibition is a celebration of the continued work which is carried out between the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology and the Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre.
This exhibition highlights some of the most well-known and some of the most hidden sights of Dorset both during the day and at night. It starts at night, travelling through the Dorset countryside, and finishes along the Bournemouth coast.
