We all know how important it is to look after both our physical and mental health, especially during periods of increased pressure such as exam season or in the run up to assignment deadlines.
Reflexology and Holistic treatments focus on your overall wellbeing, rather than treating particular symptoms separately. They also offer the chance to take some ‘time out’, be in the moment and focus on you.
Reflexology can help you to:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Speed recovery from injury`
- Reduce headaches
- Strengthen your immune system
- Release happy hormones
- Promote healthy sleep
- ...and More!
Working in partnership with local Holistic Therapist, Corinne McCrea, the list of available treatments (for both BU students and staff) includes; a variety of massages (sports, holistic, back, shoulders, neck and head, facial), Hopi ear candling and reflexology.
Deep Tissue Massage
This is a wonderful restorative treatment helping release muscle tension, stimulate blood flow and sooth the nervous system. It helps restore the function of the muscles and surrounding connective tissues and in return helps movement and flexibility - and particularly effective to treat and prevent soft tissue strains, sprains and address postural issues. The pressure of the massage will be adapted to suit your own pain tolerance and needs.
This a therapeutic method of stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet (and hands) enhancing overall wellbeing and relaxation, as well as helping reduce pain, stress and anxiety. No need to undress! Just a light oil will be used on your feet.
Seated Neck, shoulder, and back massage
This is a rejuvenating treatment ideal for the workplace using a combination of massage and acupressure technique on the back, neck shoulders arms, hands and scalp (optional). No oil is used and no need to undress! Therefore, you can go straight back to work feeling refreshed and revitalised.
Online Self Care Wellbeing Sessions
The online sessions are perfect to address postural issues, alleviate sore spots, improve your mobility and boost general wellbeing. I will tailor the sessions according to individual needs. They will include guided self massages techniques, simple stretche and a relaxation routine (either breath work, short visualisation/meditation routine).
These sessions can be for individual or group (maximum 6).
