Bournemouth University’s Professor Rick Stafford, an expert in marine biology and conservation, has written about what Covid-19 can teach us about how we govern our behaviour. Published in The Ecologist, the article was co-authored by Professor Stafford and colleagues from University College London.
The article examines the way the governments have reacted to the Covid-19 crisis and the expectation for the state and scientific experts to look after society. The article looks at how the lessons learned from this crisis might be applied to the long-term environmental challenges that humanity will face after the pandemic – climate change and biodiversity loss.
