Bournemouth University has launched a free online Introduction to Health Economics course.
The Introduction to Health Economics course, presented by Bournemouth University, provides a comprehensive introduction to health-related economic principles. The course is for individuals who would like to explore the fundamentals of health economics, or are interested in or working within health care, pharmaceuticals, and health finance, and who are keen to improve their decision-making skills.
The study of health economics is important in helping to ensure the efficient use of available resources for maximising health benefits. It is also essential to improving health care delivery, outcomes, and lifestyle patterns through interactions with individuals and health care providers, in different clinical settings.
Professor Hassan Yazdifar, Head of Department for Accounting, Finance and Economics Department at Bournemouth University, said: “This bitesize self-guided course, which you can study at your own pace, is aimed at individuals who may be considering developing their career in health economics. The learning outcomes will provide an overall understanding of health economics’ key concepts, economic evaluation, and analytics.”
