The Bournemouth Gateway Building (BGB) is open 24/7 for all students to access the library PCs and other non-specialist spaces in order to study outside of teaching hours. So that the safety of people using the building at all times can be supported, along with the security of the equipment within it, there are entry gates in reception. Therefore, you need your student ID card to enter and leave the building.
Please remember to bring your student ID card with you when coming to campus. From Friday 6 January 2023, you will only be able to access the BGB by presenting your card to the reader until it turns green and the gates open. If you forget your card, you will be unable to enter and will need to return once you have your student ID.
For the next few weeks, the reception team will be reminding anyone without their card of this change but, after 6 January, if you do not have your student ID card, you will not be able to get into the BGB.
If you are a student in the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences and you don’t have a card, please contact Student Support: [email protected] CPD (Continuing Professional Development) students with any queries should contact [email protected]
If you’re from any of the other faculties and you don’t currently have a student ID card, please contact AskBU.
It’s important to have your student ID card on you whenever you visit our sites, so they can be regularly updated whenever you access one of the buildings.
