If you are a new student starting a course in January 2025, you are eligible for a free week of travel on the Unibus services.
Our UNIBUS service connects our campuses with Poole, Bournemouth and Boscombe, with the regular U1 service running between our Talbot and Lansdowne campuses. Other services include: U2 (Poole to Talbot Campus), U3 (Southbourne to Talbot Campus) and U4 (Westbourne to Talbot Campus).
To gain access to the free week, you must download the Unibus app from the app store on your device (IOS or Google) and register with your BU student email address. Once registered, you must email [email protected] to say you would like to claim one week's free bus travel.
The Travel team will email you a code within 1 – 2 days. You then need to go to the “Tickets” section of the app to redeem the code (you can do this straight away). When you want your week’s free travel to begin, you need to activate the ticket in the app (we recommend you do this in the morning rather than the afternoon). Once activated it will display a QR code which you simply need to scan on the ticket machine whenever you use the bus.
Please be aware that this offer is only open to students starting their course in January 2025. Students must have completed their online registration before they can apply for the pass.
