A number of services, including the buses, Medical Centre and Student Wellbeing, will have reduced opening hours or service over the Spring Break which runs from 5 - 27 April 2025.
The majority of university services will also be closed for the Easter weekend bank holidays from 18 - 21 April 2025, except for the libraries which are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Achieve@BU
The Achieve team will be available throughout the Spring Break, Monday to Friday, 9am - 4:30pm, apart from the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). You can contact the team by emailing [email protected] or via the AskBU phone number - 01202 969696.
Additional Learning Support
The ALS Team will be available throughout the Spring Break, in DLG17, ground floor of The Sir Michael Cobham Library, Talbot Campus: Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm, 2pm - 4pm.
They will be closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). You can contact the team by calling 01202 965663 or email [email protected]. Any appointments booked with staff will carry on as normal.
AskBU
AskBU will be open during the Spring Break, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). Check the opening hours for The Hub in Poole House (Talbot Campus) and the Helpdesk in Bournemouth Gateway Building (Lansdowne Campus). The AskBU Helpdesk at BGB will be closed all day Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 April.
Buses
There will be a reduced UNIBUS service for U1 and U3 from Monday 7 April, with normal services beginning again on Monday 28 April. There will be no services running for U2 and U4.

CareersBU
The CareersBU Team will be available in the Careers Zone in Poole House (Talbot Campus) and the Helpdesk at Bournemouth Gateway Building (Lansdowne Campus) over Spring Break. Due to limited staff availability between 14 April and 17 April there will be some changes to the regular opening hours - please check the service opening hours. The service will also be closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 April - 21 April).

Faith & Reflection
The Faith & Reflection space on the first floor of Talbot House will be open over the Spring Break, from 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). You can also chat to us via Zoom; contact us on [email protected] or call 07928 129767.
Libraries
Both libraries will be open 24/7 during the Spring Break. Staffed service at the helpdesks and online chat service will be available 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, except on the bank holidays (18 - 21 April). Check online for full library opening hours.
The Library’s e-journals and e-books are all available off campus, using your BU username and password. Check out our library guide on logging into e-resources from off-campus for more detail. Also, the Academic Skills area on Brightspace has lots of resources and online tutorials to help you brush up on skills such as revision and exam techniques.
Medical Centre
The Student Medical Centre will be closed for the Spring Break, but the Talbot Medical Centre (TMC) at 63 Kinson Road is open 8am - 6.30pm, Monday - Friday. Call 01202 965378 to book an appointment or get advice. You can also visit the Northbourne Surgery at 1368 Wimborne Road, check the TMC website for opening hours. Music facilities
The University Music practice rooms will be open as normal, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). Please contact [email protected] for any queries.
Residential Services
The main office will be open as usual during the Spring Break but closed over Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). All halls of residence will have a member of staff available 24/7 over the period and/or an emergency telephone number for you to contact a member of staff. If you are unsure what this is please speak with your local accommodation team.
If you're living in Unilet accommodation, you should continue to use your usual out of hours support and call the main Poole House reception number (01202 524111) for emergencies.
If you’re living in private accommodation, including a property arranged through LettingsBU, you should have an out of hours numbers to call, so contact your landlord or agent direct if you haven’t or are unsure.
SportBU
SportBU facilities will be open during the Spring Break, as per the hours listed below, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April):
- Monday - Friday: 7.15am - 8.30pm
- Saturday - Sunday: 9am - 6pm

Student Wellbeing
Student Wellbeing will be offering a reduced service over Spring Break. If you have an appointment, please attend as arranged. Our office is closed for enquiries and there is no drop-in. You will still be able to register for the service using the online form, but please be aware, it may take us longer than usual to process these. We will try to answer any email queries, but please be patient if we are slower than usual to reply.

SUBU Advice
During the Spring Break SUBU Advice is open for enquiries Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm, in the Student Centre, 2nd floor, on Talbot Campus. The team also offers drop-in sessions from 11am - 12pm, Monday - Friday. They will be closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). At Lansdowne Campus you can find the team in the Bournemouth Gateway Building, 3rd Floor, room 301c, on Thursdays between 8am - 4pm.

SUBU outlets
The Ground Up Café in the Student Centre will be open Monday to Saturday, 10am - 2pm. The Student Shop in Poole House will be open Monday to Friday, 10am - 2pm. Both will be closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April). Dylan's Kitchen & Bar will be closed throughout the Spring Break.
University Retreat
The University Retreat is a drop-in service for any student who needs face-to-face mental health support. If you feel that you're potentially approaching a point of crisis, then this service is here to support you. You don’t need an appointment; simply come in and talk to one of our friendly team. The University Retreat will be open over the Spring Break, Monday - Friday (including bank holidays) between 2pm - 9pm (last time of entry is 8:15pm). The service will be closed on Saturday 12 and Saturday 19 April.
Bournemouth Uni Food outlets
For more information about Bournemouth Uni Food catering, please visit the Uni Food Hub app. The following outlets will be open across Talbot and Lansdowne campuses during these hours, but closed over Easter weekend bank holiday (18 - 21 April):

- Hot food counter, Fusion Building: Monday - Friday, 12pm - 2pm
- Alumni Café, Bournemouth Gateway Building: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3.30pm.
