SUBU logo

Your Student Union is here to support you. As always, SUBU continue to host a variety of activities and events for students of all years and SUBU Advice are here to help if you have any concerns.

SUBU continue to update their what's on guide with their schedule of events and activities, so it is definitely worth checking if you are on the look out for something to do.

If you have not considered joining a club or society, you can browse the full list on the SUBU website. Joining a society is a great way to make friends and talk to like-minded individuals about shared interests. This could be a particular hobby or sport, profession or career, or culture and faith. If you can't find one you are interested in, there is also the opportunity to set up your own.

During this time of uncertainty SportBU have made their premium portal content accessible to all students and staff at BU. This exclusive portal provides you and SportBU Premium members with content about nutrition, exercise, challenges, events and more.

The team are uploading content daily to their Facebook @SportBU and Instagram @sportbu including mini at-home workouts from their personal trainers, links to virtual instructor workouts as well as Zumba Zoom calls.

Helen Ryder, one of SportBU’s instructors, is also hosting a Facebook live exercise class every day on her page, ‘Active Community Poole and Bournemouth’. These live classes vary but will usually involve HIIT, Body conditioning and Legs, Bums and Tums workouts.

If you're living in BU managed accommodation, ResLifeBU offer a programme of events and activities to support you whilst living at your home away from home. The programme aims to welcome, support and develop your skills whilst managing the health, safety and wellbeing of everybody living in the BU accommodation portfolio.

Many of ResLife’s social activities are now virtual in line with government guidance, but this hasn’t set back the variety of events on offer – the team are thinking creatively to ensure there is something for everyone to get involved in. To stay updated with what is happening and when, make sure to follow @BUResLife on Facebook as well as @reslifeBU on instagram.
