The University's Choral Society is open to students, staff and members of the local community. Our programme for the 2018/19 season includes Handel's 'Messiah', Vaughan Williams' 'Toward the unknown region', Elgar’s 'The Kingdom’, Stanford’s ‘Songs of the fleet’ and Rachmaninov’s ‘Vespers'. Additionally, there are several singing days with guest conductors. All who enjoy singing are welcome and there are no auditions.

Chamber Choir

Our Chamber Choir has gathered an enviable reputation and offers singers with some experience and sight-reading ability the chance to rehearse and perform challenging repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day. We regularly sing in prestigious venues such as Salisbury and Winchester Cathedrals, Christchurch Priory, Wimborne Minster and St. Peter’s Church, Bournemouth, as well as in various venues on our own campuses. Particular highlights each year are the carol service and the production of an opera in Poole’s historic Guildhall. Additionally, Chamber Choir members often perform as soloists in concerts with the larger scale University Music Choir and Orchestra. The ensemble is only open to students, if you're interested in joining please contact Ian Davis (Head of Music) for further information.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays 4.45pm-6.15pm in the Student Hall, Talbot House, Talbot Campus

Annual subscription: Free to all BU & AUB students
