Supporting your musical talent

About us

Welcome to University Music. We offer a range of musical opportunities to students and staff of Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth as well as to members of the local community.

The music practice rooms will return to open access from Monday 30 August and booking will no longer be required. Please email for further details. However, please ensure that whilst using the rooms you follow any protocols required by the University or wider government guidelines. Do please continue to use the hand sanitising stations before and after using the pianos as this is key to preventing any sort of infection spreading as we move into the Autumn

Individual tuition with our tutors is available, either by Zoom or in person. Please contact us if you would like to book lessons.

Choirs and Instrumental Ensembles will resume weekly rehearsals from the beginning of the new semester. If you are a singer or an instrumentalist, please contact us to discuss which ensemble would suit you.

Music Scholarships are offered to suitably qualified students who are willing to make a significant contribution to the musical life of our two universities. Please contact us to discuss eligibility. As a guide, you will need to have achieved grade 8 practical (ABRSM or Trinity) and either A level music (grade B or above) and/or grade 8 theory.

With a choice of three choirs, singing is one of University Music's most popular activities.
