This course is delivered by the AACSB accredited Business School, an accreditation which places us within the top institutions globally for business degrees. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have attained this hallmark of excellence which recognises a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching and student learning.

Designed to give you a high academic level of understanding, this degree combines the best aspects of our accountancy courses with international expertise in taxation policy and practice to ensure you graduate with an all-encompassing set of practical skills and the theoretical knowledge needed to pursue a career in the financial sector.

As well as having three global industry accreditations to its name, this course offers exemptions for accountancy qualifications, meaning you may not have to take all the exams required to become a Chartered Accountant.

In addition, we are honoured to be one of a select few UK universities that can offer its top-performing Accounting and Taxation students the opportunity to obtain the ICAEW’s Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB). As an internationally recognised professional qualification, the CFAB is a valuable asset for boosting your employability prospects.

Each of the courses in our accounting, finance and economics framework has the same core units in year one, but we incorporate flexibility in year two as you can transfer to another pathway should you wish, allowing you to align your curriculum with your future career aspirations.

For those interested in studying abroad, you’ll have the opportunity to learn at one of our international partner institutions during the second semester of the second year; currently we have partners in Australia, Canada and Europe. What’s more, in your third year you can complete a 30-week placement anywhere in the world, to add invaluable workplace context to the theoretical framework forged in the classroom, whilst creating a useful network of professional contacts.

88% of our final year students said they have been able to contact staff when they needed to. Join us on live chat to find out more, or register to meet us at an Open Day. You can also watch our online presentation to find out more about this course.
