BA (Hons) Commercial Photography – what our students say

Delivered at one of our partner colleges (Wiltshire College, Salisbury), our BA (Hons) Commercial Photography course offers a balance between technical mastery, personal experimentation and creative development within the photography industry.

The course is noted for the high standard of its tutors’ teaching and how this helps students achieve their ambitions, as well as the quality of the facilities on offer. We also provide a carefully planned blend of assignments and academic study to help our students develop their own styles and determine their future career direction.

Here, two of our Commercial Photography degree students share their experiences from the course so far.

“Valuable industry expertise”

Karolina Borwoska

Karolina, who aims to specialise in lifestyle shoots, says she’s found the practical expertise of academic staff particularly helpful as she studies towards a career behind the camera.

Karolina Borwoska

“The facilities are excellent and the tutors are very supportive of the direction I want to go in as a photographer.

“We’re really fortunate to get one-on-one support from tutors, and because they have worked in industry, their expertise is very valuable.”

“Better facilities than elsewhere”

Ben Stewart

Ben, who plans to pursue a career as a commercial photographer, echoes Karolina’s comments about having access to great facilities and staff.

Ben Stewart

“I chose BU and Wiltshire College because it had a good reputation and I felt it offered me better facilities than elsewhere. The amount of equipment we have to use is incredible and there is never a problem getting access.

“The academic staff are excellent. They are always ready to share their knowledge and are extremely helpful in guiding me to achieve the end results I’m after in my photography.”
