Chen Hua Yang
MSc Tourism Management

Student Chen Hua Yang (Judy) graduated in 2018. My experience of studying MSc Tourism Management in Bournemouth University was very challenging but extremely wonderful. The course not only helps me to build up my management, research and logical thinking skills but also enhance my academic knowledge in tourism field, enable me to develop a bigger picture of global travel trends and future tourism. Also, during the studies, there are lots of opportunities to attend field trips (e.g. visiting Swanage, Jurassic Coast), formal tourism conferences (e.g. WTM, BU Tourism & Hospitality Conference), and interact with many industry experts and specialities in tourism industry.

Moreover, the unit tutors of MSc Tourism Management are the best teachers ever. All so friendly, knowledgeable and willing to listen and help, offering the wide range and forward-thinking knowledge and practice. Meanwhile, meeting numerous people with various nationalities in school is very interesting. By interact with a culturally diverse group of students who have different perspective and viewpoints, it does enhance my communication, presentation and team-working skill a lot, also really open my eye.

Therefore, I sincerely recommend the course of MSc Tourism Management, the best choice ever. For me, it was the most amazing and wonderful studying experience in my life.

I-Hua SU
MSc Tourism Management

I love to travel. So, deciding to study a Masters I resolutely converted from my original social work route for tourism. In my mind, the best country is the United Kingdom and the best tourism specialist in the United Kingdom is Bournemouth University.

After a year of learning and experience, I really feel that I made the right choice. BU has the most professional teachers and learning environment, but also a kind student counseling team - AskBU. AskBU service students and the school offers open and fast communication channels. The School of Tourism also attaches great importance to students’ post-graduation employment opportunities, thus providing employment services. And best of all, students can choose to take a work placement. When I take my placement I can gain employment experience and work skills, a great help for future employment opportunities after graduation.

In addition, I value the environment and quality of life here in Bournemouth. With Britain's most beautiful blue sky, beach and the sea - and a wide range of summer festivals - Bournemouth welcomes tourists from all over the world every summer. In my studies I can feel the joy of life, both in the academic and life experience.

Bournemouth is my first choice.

hun-Han CHANG
MSc Events Management

Hi, I am Shunhan Chang, a current MSc Events Management at Bournemouth University. I’m glad to be chosen one of the Taiwanese students here to share my experience at Bournemouth University.

Why did I choose to study here?

The main reason is I wanted to change my career and develop my skills in a different industry. My consultant in Taiwan helped me to find suitable subjects for me to study that really matched to my personality. There were several universities that she suggested, but I chose to study at Bournemouth University. The main reason was I noticed that they encourage students to take work placements and also the most exciting part was that students would get an opportunity to organise an event themselves!

I must admit that organising an event by ourselves wasn’t an easy job, but I learnt a lot and this experience led me to connect with the Head Manager from House of Fraser (a large UK wide department store) in Bournemouth. So I have now earned the second chance to help to promote their Two Day Brand Event. From the above experience, I have been taught and learnt how to deal with a variety of difficult situations that I would face while hosting an event.

I had a great time studying here and I’d love to tell everyone that you won’t regret choosing to study Events Management here at Bournemouth University.
