Doing a PhD at Bournemouth University has allowed me to pursue a career in academia as a lecturer in radiography.
Since starting the Job in November 2019, I have been able to apply many of the skills learnt from my PhD journey. For example, I have continued to develop my interest in systematic reviewing, with a paper recently accepted looking into advanced practice in breast diagnosis funded by Health Education England*. I plan on continuing this project evaluating the advanced practitioner role using Critical Realist Evaluation which was the evaluation tool I used for my PhD study.
“Doing a PhD has provided me with the foundational knowledge to develop my career in academia”
