Health & Social Care placement locations

You may undertake placements here during the Midwifery, Adult or Mental Health Nursing courses, or if you study Operating Department Practice. We work closely with The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and with the Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust. Your other placements will be within Dorset or Hampshire.

You may be based in and around Poole if you are studying Adult Nursing, Midwifery, Children's & Young People’s Nursing, Mental Health Nursing or Operating Department Practice. As well as the Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust, we also have ties with the Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Your other placements will be within Dorset or Hampshire.

Students on the Adult, Children's & Young People’s, or Mental Health Nursing courses, as well as those studying Midwifery or Operating Department Practice may go on placements here. We work with the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. Your other placements will be within Wiltshire or Somerset.

This is a potential placement location for students on the Adult, Children's & Young People’s or Mental Health Nursing courses, and we work closely with the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust in this area. Your other placements will be within Dorset or Hampshire.

You may undertake placements in Yeovil if you are on the Operating Department Practice, Midwifery, Adult or Children's & Young People’s Nursing courses. We have links to the Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Please note that students on the Adult Nursing course who are based in Yeovil are taught at University Centre Yeovil as well as the main Bournemouth University campuses. Your other placements will be within Somerset.

This is a potential placement location for students on the Midwifery course, where we work with the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be taught at St Mary’s Community Health Campus in Portsmouth if you are undertaking placements here. Your other placements will be within Hampshire.

Students on the Midwifery course may undertake placements at the Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust. If this is your placement location, you will be taught at St Mary’s Community Health Campus in Portsmouth. Your other placements will be within Hampshire.

This is also a possible placement location for students on the Midwifery course. We work with St Mary’s Hospital Newport and if this is one of the hospitals where you will undertake placements, you’ll be taught at St Mary’s Community Health Campus in Portsmouth. Your other placements will be on the Isle of Wight.

You may be based here for your placements if you are on the Midwifery or Operating Department Practice courses. We work closely with Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Winterbourne Hospital (BMI). Your other placements will be within Dorset.

Students on the Operating Department Practice course may have their placements in Taunton, where we work alongside Musgrove Park Hospital.
