Experience new cultures, learn from different ways of working and explore the world with our overseas study and work opportunities – and improve your future employability in the process.
In today’s – and tomorrow’s – global marketplace, the experiences gained from studying or working abroad can be invaluable for your career. Not only will you develop new approaches to working, but you’ll expand your global mindset, enabling you to appreciate global markets and recognise opportunities.
And with funding schemes such as Erasmus +, you’ll find that getting to experience the world is open to everyone.

The world on campus
Diversity and global understanding are actively promoted in everything we do at BU. When our students return to BU from overseas, they share their insights through activities such as our Global Café forums and our BU Be Global International Opportunities Festival.
Engaging with these events on campus allows you to learn from their experiences, as well as from our diverse international student community – 2,610 students from 125 countries in 2016-17.
Did you know? In 2016-17, our students are working or studying in countries ranging from Finland to Thailand, South Korea to South Africa, Congo to China and India to the USA.
"I wanted to develop skills in an international environment. I gained international awareness, as the company had interns from around the world. Don’t be scared to work abroad. It’s an experience which will be cherished in your work and personal life.”
